Why wear grip socks for rugby?

  1. Your foot stays in place

No sliding inside your shoe during a push, stop or tackle.

  2. Power reaches the court

The force you put into the ground is not lost in a slipping sock.

  3. Confidence in every step

You do not have to second-guess your foot. That brings confidence when sprinting, tackling or kicking.

  4. Fresh until the final minute

Seamless and breathable with Coolmax®. Dry feet, even in the second half.

Less slipping. More power.

Forwards

Scrum, maul, ruck. Every push goes through your foot into the ground. Grip keeps that foot in place, even as pressure builds.

Backs and sevens

Sidestep, accelerate, stop hard. Your forefoot slips less inside your shoe, so you push off more sharply and brake more firmly.

Frequently asked questions about rugby grip socks

How do they differ from regular rugby socks?

A grip sock has a silicone grip pattern underfoot. This increases friction between your foot and the inside of your shoe. A regular sock does not have this. How much you notice depends on your shoe, fit and playing style.

Does the grip also work between my studs and the pitch?

No. The pattern works inside your shoe, between foot and shoe. Grip between your studs and grass or artificial turf remains your rugby boot's job.

What does research say about grip socks?

Research on grip socks in general measured a coefficient of friction of 1.17 for grip socks, compared with 0.60 for regular socks (sources below). These studies tested grip socks as a category: not HÏ Grip and not rugby specifically.

Which size and colour should I choose?

Performance Grip Socks 2.0 come in sizes 35-38, 39-42 and 43-47, in white and black. The sock size corresponds to your shoe size. Between sizes? Choose the larger one.

Which HÏ Grip grip socks suit rugby?
